Soft, sweet cookies with a rich cocoa flavor and a delightful filling of walnuts, shredded coconut, and a touch of powdered sugar. Each cookie is baked until golden, then dipped into a simple syrup to add extra sweetness and moisture. Perfectly balanced with a crunchy exterior and a moist, gooey center.

Ingredients

Cookie Ingredients:

  1. 125 grams butter
  2. 1 egg
  3. 1 tea glass granulated sugar
  4. 1 tea glass vegetable oil
  5. 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  6. 1 packet vanilla powder
  7. 1 packet baking powder
  8. 3 to 3.5 cups flour

Filling:

  1. 1 tea glass chopped walnuts (or hazelnuts)
  2. 1 tea glass shredded coconut
  3. 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
  4. 3 tablespoons milk

Syrup:

  1. 1.5 cups water
  2. 1.5 cups granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. First, combine the sugar and water in a pot to prepare the syrup and bring it to a boil.
  1. Meanwhile, mix the filling ingredients in a bowl.
  1. Next, start preparing the cookie dough.
  1. Add all the ingredients to the room temperature butter and mix well.
  1. Finally, add the baking powder and knead until you get a nice cookie dough.
  1. Take small pieces of the dough, flatten them slightly in your hand, and place some filling inside.
  1. Close the dough around the filling and roll it into a ball, then place it on a baking tray.
  1. Once all the cookies are ready, bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 15 minutes.
  1. After removing them from the oven, dip the hot cookies into the prepared cold syrup and arrange them in a dish.
  1. Let the cookies rest for a while before serving. Enjoy!
