Soft, sweet cookies with a rich cocoa flavor and a delightful filling of walnuts, shredded coconut, and a touch of powdered sugar. Each cookie is baked until golden, then dipped into a simple syrup to add extra sweetness and moisture. Perfectly balanced with a crunchy exterior and a moist, gooey center.
Ingredients
Cookie Ingredients:
- 125 grams butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tea glass granulated sugar
- 1 tea glass vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1 packet vanilla powder
- 1 packet baking powder
- 3 to 3.5 cups flour
Filling:
- 1 tea glass chopped walnuts (or hazelnuts)
- 1 tea glass shredded coconut
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk
Syrup:
- 1.5 cups water
- 1.5 cups granulated sugar
Instructions
- First, combine the sugar and water in a pot to prepare the syrup and bring it to a boil.
- Meanwhile, mix the filling ingredients in a bowl.
- Next, start preparing the cookie dough.
- Add all the ingredients to the room temperature butter and mix well.
- Finally, add the baking powder and knead until you get a nice cookie dough.
- Take small pieces of the dough, flatten them slightly in your hand, and place some filling inside.
- Close the dough around the filling and roll it into a ball, then place it on a baking tray.
- Once all the cookies are ready, bake them in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 15 minutes.
- After removing them from the oven, dip the hot cookies into the prepared cold syrup and arrange them in a dish.
- Let the cookies rest for a while before serving. Enjoy!
