Dinner

These sour meatballs, made from a blend of lamb and beef mince, are cooked to perfection in a hearty broth with potatoes and carrots. The meatballs are lightly coated with flour for a delicate texture and flavored with lemon juice for a tangy twist. Perfect for a comforting dinner, this dish is both satisfying and healthy.

Ingredients

  1. 400 grams of mixed lamb and beef mince
  2. 2 tablespoons of rice
  3. 1 small coffee cup of bulgur for meatballs
  4. 2 medium potatoes
  5. 3 small carrots
  6. Olive oil or vegetable oil, as preferred
  7. 1.5 liters of boiling water
  8. A pinch of black pepper
  9. Salt
  10. Some flour
  11. Half a lemon (use 1 lemon if you prefer it sour)

Instructions

  1. I partially boiled the rice and soaked the bulgur in hot water until softened.
  2. I cleaned and diced the potatoes and carrots.
  3. I added the soaked bulgur and softened rice to the minced meat, along with salt and black pepper, and mixed it well.
  4. I sprinkled flour on a tray. If desired, shape the mixture into walnut-sized or half-walnut-sized balls and place them on the floured tray.
  5. Continue the process until all the meat mixture is used up.
  6. Sprinkle more flour on top to coat the meatballs well.
  7. Put oil in a pot and turn on the heat.
  8. First, sauté the carrots for about 10 minutes, then add the potatoes and continue to sauté. Add a bit of salt and pour in the boiling water. Let it boil for 10 minutes so the flavors of the carrots and potatoes infuse into the water.
  9. Once the water starts boiling, add the meatballs one by one and let them simmer for half an hour.
  10. Add the lemon juice and let it simmer for another 10 minutes on low heat. Enjoy your meal!
