Beef
Main Course

Enjoy a comforting bowl of goulash with tender diced beef, sautéed onions, red bell pepper, and garlic, simmered in a rich tomato base with a blend of thyme, cumin, and black pepper, thickened with flour for a hearty and flavorful main course.

Ingredients

  1. 500 grams diced beef
  2. 2 medium-sized onions
  3. 1 medium-sized red bell pepper
  4. 2 cloves of garlic
  5. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  6. 3 tablespoons butter
  7. 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  8. 1 tablespoon flour
  9. 3 cups water
  10. 1 teaspoon thyme
  11. 1 teaspoon black pepper
  12. 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
  13. 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  14. Salt

Instructions

  1. Place the meat in a pot and start to brown it. When it releases its juices, cook over low heat until the water evaporates, then transfer the meat to a plate and set aside.
  2. Cut the onion in half, then cut each half into three pieces and chop finely. Cut the pepper into quarters and chop, and finely chop the garlic.
  3. Add oil to the pot and add the pepper, onion, and garlic. Sauté for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the tomato paste to the sautéed onions and peppers and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the aroma is released.
  5. Add the meat and spices, and stir.
  6. Add 3 cups of water and stir.
  7. In a bowl, dissolve the flour with a ladle of the soup liquid, then slowly pour it into the dish while stirring.
  8. After it starts to boil, simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes. Since it contains flour, stir frequently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
  9. Serve the cooked dish hot.
