Fried Okra with Yogurt

Quick and easy fried okra with a tangy yogurt sauce. This healthy, gluten-free dish features crispy okra sautéed with onions, tomatoes, and a blend of spices, perfect for a nutritious and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

  1. 1 kilogram okra
  2. 1 head of onion
  3. 2-3 tomatoes
  4. 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  5. 1 teaspoon red pepper
  6. 1 teaspoon black pepper
  7. Salt
  8. 3-4 pieces of citric acid (lemon salt) or the juice of a quarter of a lemon
  9. 3-4 cloves of garlic
  10. 1 cup of hot water

Instructions

  1. Wash the okra thoroughly, then spread them on a kitchen cloth to allow them to drain well.
  1. Once drained, trim the tops of the okra using a knife.
  1. Sprinkle a little oil and salt over the okra, mix well, and cook in an air fryer or oven until golden brown.
  1. In a pot, add oil and sauté the onion until soft, then add the tomato paste, tomatoes, and spices in sequence.
  1. Add the okra, citric acid (or lemon juice), and garlic to the sautéed mixture.
  1. Add about 1 cup of hot water, cook for about 10 minutes, and it’s ready to serve.
