Breakfast
Delicious dill pastries with a soft, buttery dough, filled with cheddar or feta cheese, and topped with sesame seeds. Perfect for breakfast or as a savory appetizer, these pastries are golden brown and have a delightful flavor from the fresh dill.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs (reserve the yolk of 1 for the topping)
- 1 Turkish tea glass of vegetable oil
- 150 grams of butter (softened at room temperature)
- 2 tablespoons of yogurt
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 level dessert spoon of salt
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 4 cups of flour (add the flour gradually after the 3rd cup)
- A pinch of dill
For the Filling:
- Cheddar cheese or feta cheese
For the Topping:
- Reserved egg yolk
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients except the dill to form a dough.
- Once the dough has come together, add the dill and continue kneading until it is evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Take pieces of dough slightly larger than a walnut and shape them. I shaped them into ovals, but sometimes I shape them into rounds as well.
- If you like, you can add some feta or cheddar cheese in the center of each piece.
- Brush the tops with the reserved egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 25 minutes.
