Ingredients

Ingredients for the Dough:

  1. 125 grams (half a pack) of butter or margarine at room temperature
  2. 1 egg
  3. Half a cup of granulated sugar
  4. Half a pack of baking powder
  5. Flour as needed (approximately 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons)

Ingredients for the Apple Filling:

  1. 4 medium-sized apples (3 if large)
  2. 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

For Topping:

  1. Powdered sugar

Instructions

Prepare the Apple Filling:

  1. Peel and grate the apples.
  2. Add cinnamon and sugar to the grated apples.
  3. Cook the mixture until the apples are soft.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Prepare the Tart Dough:

  1. In a bowl, mix the egg, butter, and sugar thoroughly with your hands.
  2. Gradually add the baking powder and flour.
  3. Knead until you get a soft dough that does not stick to your hands.
  4. Let the dough rest for about 15 minutes.

Assemble the Tart:

  1. Set aside a piece of dough the size of an orange.
  2. Roll out the remaining dough to fit a medium-sized baking dish or tart pan.
  3. Grease the baking dish and place the rolled dough in it.
  4. Spread the cooled apple filling evenly over the dough.
  5. Roll out the orange-sized dough piece and cut it into strips.
  6. Place the strips over the apple filling in a lattice pattern.

Bake the Tart:

  1. Preheat the oven to 185°C (365°F).
  2. Bake the tart until it is golden brown.

Serve:

  1. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
  2. Enjoy your apple tart!
